Meet Brian

Brian Downum, a distinguished acupuncturist, co-founded White Raven Acupuncture in the beautiful South Cedros Design District of Solana Beach in the summer of 2009. His journey in acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine began in 2007 when he graduated from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, and he has been diligently serving the San Diego community for over 15 years.

  Brian is knowledgeable, intuitive, skilled and kind. I started seeing him several years ago after a bad car accident injured my neck and he has helped my recovery tremendously. Since then I've seen him for several other issues. I have referred several people to him and he has helped them as well. He is able to quickly assess and tell you what is wrong and how to fix it.   Anyone who has suffered from plantar fasciitis knows it is painful and sensitive.  Brian made recommendations for my exercise routine and told me that 1-3 treatments of acupuncture should heal the condition.  It worked!  The pain subsided over the course of 2 weeks and no further treatments were needed.  I don't write many reviews but I hope this helps others.

  What a great acupuncture experience.  Brian was prompt to respond and setup an appointment with me. When I got there he asked and listened to my concerns. I have seen him intermittently over many years and most recently for an extended period as he helped me through an intense period of pain from an injury. Brian is extremely knowledgeable, compassionate and most of all always effective. He is highly skilled and gives clear instructions on appropriate exercises to practice between appointments.
